Legnarian Kings

Description

I sporadically decided that I needed to draw up some more Askerda stuff, so I decided to start off with the three kings of my winged race called legnarians (leg-naw-ree-uhn).

The legnarians have three main branches; Psittar (si-tar), Cahard (cuh-hard), and Alcon (al-cone). Each branch has distinct characteristics that set them apart from each other.

We'll start with King Atredin (uh-trey-den) of the Psittar (left). Typical of most psittarians, he is quite fond of brewing and drinking wine, listening to and writing music, and is overall quite laid back in his rule. Psittarians are also the smallest of the three branches, averaging around 5ft tall. They fly the least out of the legnarians, so their wings are smaller compared to body size. Their wing color is also much paler than the Cahard and Alcon and often has a bluish or greenish tint. Since they are more ground based, they often wear heavier, looser clothing; the psittarian women even wear long dresses and trains that make it almost impossible for them to fly (they don’t mind in the least though). Atredin and the Psittar reside in the gulf side cliff city of Salfheim along with a smaller group in the first legnarian city of Elinir.

Next, is King Aljoif (al-joyf) of the Cahard (right). He is known for his stiff personality and authoritarian-like temper. The cahardians are the tallest and most muscular of the legnarians averaging around 5ft 7. Their wings are mainly dark brown to almost black in color. The cahardians are primarily known for their close relationship with the dvergalf who they worked with often in metalworking (hence the hammer and dvergalf clothing designs like the belt and boots). They are also greatly known for their spectacular stone architecture built under cliff overhangs, again using many techniques learned from the dvergalf. Aljoif and the Cahard reside in the cliff city of Aldon, also known as the “Hanging Stone City”.

And last but not least is Acilis (uh-sill-iss), father of Karis and king of the Alcon. As king of the Alcon, Acilis is also the High King of the legnarians. He is a very strict but just king and is overall respected throughout Askerda. The alconians are the closest in relation to the original legnarians who landed in Askerda in the late Veliran age, and thus have the original “golden” colored wings. Their wings are also the largest in relation to body size of the three branches due to their highly airborne lifestyle. Acilis and the Alcon reside in the legnarian capital of Langhan, built into the 300ft canopy of the Viduran Wood.

The swords of the three legnarian kings where gifts from the dvergalf, originally forged to repair relationships between the races after the “Alcheg Plagues” which killed around 70% of the dvergalf and human population (alcheg means winged one in dvergalf). The swords are named as such: Kizi (k-eye-ze) sun, Psittar; Tib-kizi (tib-k-eye-ze) moon, Cahard; and Kesuc (ke-sook) heavens, Alcon.

So there ya go, some more info from my book I'm working on. Planning on drawing up the dvergalf and human kings but who knows when that'll happen :giggle:

Any questions are more than welcome :D

I'd like to see an example of a female Legnarian, just to see how you've worked out the proportions and anatomy with them. I think the design is really cool.
